There are none. Zero. Zip. Nada. The closest thing we have is the dealers in Nassau & Suffolk and there are not many of those. We do have an excellent Scooter Shop in Maspeth Queens called Zoom Scooters. They specialize in Chinese & Asian imports. As for the dealers, they usually just work on their own brands. We do a lot of our own work as a result. We have some members that work only on Vespas, locally.
The sad truth is, Scooters are not that popular around here. They are not like Motorcycles, where you can find a shop of some kind in almost any town. Even the popular brands like Vespa have only one place on the Island and it is in the Hamptons.. There also is one in Brooklyn. Both are very good but not exactlly nearby. Be ready to pay handsomy for transport to and from, from any dealer if you can not ride it there and back. Do not disregard Bellmore Harley either. They sell more kinds of Scooters than anyone on LI and have a great service dept.
The life a Scooterist is spent online alot doing research on their bike, if you are far from a “shop”. Bringing your own parts to a willing Motorcycle shop will make your life easier. Most of the “work” is generic for Maintainence. Things like “upgrades” are not. Stuff like that, you are own your own. Your are really always on your own, as you should become the expert on your Scooter, regardless of the brand. Most Chinese Scooters are similiar but you have to train any mechanic that isnt familiar with it. You should start checking out videos on YouTube and get a good set of tools so you can,

Not living there I don’t know if these shops exist. I had a Kymco Like fixed at a snowmobile, ATV, lawn tractor, etc, shop. The inner workings of a scooter are the same. Where I am now there is an independent motorcycle repair shop that has worked on my CF Moto and two motorcycles. As Jack Ryan, the late Admin of several scooters, said, “A scooter is just a minibike with a chain saw engine.”
