It is a sad time for Scooter riders. It is very cold and the Wind keeps on blowing. However this is the time to get ready foe the warm weather. It is time to get that Owner’s Manual out and see what Maintenance your Scooter needs. The first thing you should always be concerned with is the drive Belt. On a Vespa it is about every 6-8000 miles. I have had the belt brake at full throtle. The Belt can get tangled us in the works and lock up the back wheel. Not fun at 60 MPH or any speed.
Changing that Oil & Filter is also a good start. You want to start planning these things now so you do not miss any time riding when it gets warmer. Keeping your Battery on a Charger is also a good Idea. For those of you that ride alot like me, the Rollers in the Transmission can develop a flat spot and need to be replaced as well. I am also changing out the Air Filter and Spark Plug on my Vespa.
I get the parts online and do some of the work myself. Other work I farm out to our freind that works on Vespas. I got sick 2 years ago and it is hard for me to do things now so I depend on the help I get more than ever so I can,

I can sympathize with having to do maintenance at Spring’s arrival. My four will all need oil changes and maybe even a tire replacement. I have avoided it but the time may be here for a valve clearance check on one scooter. Time to dust off the tool boxes.
