FAQ

I feel I am not doing a good enough job of explaining how our club operates. The same questions roll in every week and I will try my best to answer them.

#1: Where are we going?
The most common question. We dont know. We deside on our destination as a group. Together. In person. That means we usually can not announce where we are going. We do this for 2 reasons. One, because we want everyone to have a say so in where we go. Two becauce, the destination is not the focus of our rides. The ride itself is. We ride and riding is what we are about. It is the things you see on the way, during our unique routes that is the true destination. All of our rides are to someplace cool on Long Island, but if you do not show up, you will never see them. Sometimes we do special rides and of course we announce a destination to those locations, but our regular routine on Sunday is to get together, in person and talk it out.

#2: How Do I Join?
Show up. On a Scooter. Ready to Ride. That is it. Our Club is for real, in person people – not computer icons. We ride Scooters, not computers. You can like our Facebook page & Subscribe to our Blog- but you will not be a member until you show up in person, on a Scooter and ready to ride.

#3: What is the LIVC?
It is our Sister Club, The Long Island Vespa Club. It was formed to bring the large amount of Vespa owners into our club.

#4: Who is Marbles Mahoney?
He is me, Angelo Liguori. I am the Founder & President of these clubs. Marbles Mahoney is my stage name. I play Guitar, Bass & Drums in a band called Strange But Surf. More people know me by my stage name than my real name so that is why I use it.

#5: When/where do you meet?
Sundays: The Sunday Swarm
900am – Town Bagel 1133 Old Country Road, Plainview
KICKSTANDS UP by 10am

ALL OF THESE EVENTS DEPEND ON THE WEATHER. If it is rainIng, snowing or there is an earthquake, we may not be riding. In the winter drive our cars.

STAY TUNED TO THIS WEBSITE AND OUR FACEBOOK PAGES FOR UPDATES AND USE YOUR BEST JUDGEMENT ALWAYS.

#6: What kind of Scooters are we talking about?
Gas powered, legally Registered & Insured Motor Scooters. Not Stand ups. Medical Scooters or Mopeds with Pedals. Not Electric Powered Scooters or Bicycles either.

A 150cc or bigger is recommended to keep up with traffic. Not being legal puts the whole group in danger of being pulled over, so stay home until you visit DMV.

#7: Are Motorcycles Welcome?
Yes. Always were. Some us ride MC’s and like our unique scenic rides.

The rest of our story is told by you when you show up add yourself to our club. If you have any questions at all, please contact us and we will get back to you ASAP. We have been doing things this way for almost 25 years now and it works for us to, Scoot On… Marbles Mahoney
